Near-Surface Geophysicist
We are seeking a Near-Surface Geophysicist with at least two to four years experience to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about applying geophysics to real-world challenges and want to work in a collaborative environment, this role is for you!

- Conducting geophysical surveys, including seismic refraction, MASW, MAM, ERT ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and electromagnetic methods, focusing on near-surface applications.
- Conducting wireline geophysical surveys, including televiewers, calliper, density, P&S Logging and Full Waveform Sonic.
- Conducting downhole seismic, crosshole seismic and sCPT/sDMT’s.
- Designing, planning, and implementing field data acquisition programs.
- Processing and interpreting geophysical data, integrating with geological and geotechnical information.
- Assisting with the preparation of detailed reports.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices in all fieldwork.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in near-surface geophysical survey techniques (seismic, GPR, resistivity, EM, etc.).
- Experience in geophysical data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools (e.g. Oasis Montaj, Geogiga, SeisImager, Res2DInv, etc.).
- Experience working in both field and office environments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Programming skills e.g. Python
- Experience working in New Zealand or similar geological settings.
- Knowledge of local environmental and safety regulations.
- Experience working in challenging environments, including urban areas, construction sites, and remote locations.
