Landslide Remediation Works
New Zealand is experiencing more severe and more frequent weather events. One example was the November 2020 weather bomb across Napier that caused wide spread damage and incited multiple landslides across the area. RDCL was one of many engineering firms and contractors that assisted the council and community to assess landslides that posed significant threats to people’s homes on Napier Hill.
RDCL provided boots on the ground engineers who engaged with home owners, council and contractors to provide on-site rapid risk assessments and geotechnical mitigation to prioritise earthworks and retention programmes with the goal to get residents back into the their homes safely and efficiently.
RDCL prides itself on pragmatic engineering solutions, not over-designing and over complicating the outcomes. Solutions for landslide remediation works require accurate and rapid risk assessments with effective turn-arounds all the way through to construction. Providing on site assessments, engineering and optioneering, and earthworks construction verification ensures RDCL manages the process from start to finish.
Site investigations, ground modelling and retention including and earthworks supervision during construction.
