Respect, support
One of the most geotechnically diverse projects I worked on was the Rangiriri Bypass. This project had very complex geology and a range of geotechnical issues resulting in solutions such as deep ground improvements, deep foundations, mechanically stabilised walls, slope stabilisation and more. Due to the range of challenges during construction, we had to come up with cost effective and innovative solutions at a fast pace.
Respect. Respecting people’s values/ideas is important to work together to achieve common goals.
The level of responsibility each team member is given to drive their own projects. This quickly develops a wide range of technical and management skills and I believe gives a sense of ownership and pride in our work.
With my family, the great outdoors and working with youth. So many adventures to be had, and it’s great to have people to share the adventure with….and also can’t pass on a sunny day near the water.
